Ken and Rosemary Visit Kingston...part 1

Alright, alright...get back to work.

So here are the rest of the photos of our adventures in Kingston WITH my parents.

For the majority of our time, we got up, got going and headed to town to set out on some adventure. One of the first things we fell in love with was taking walks by Lake Ontario, so we wanted to share that with my parents too. Most days we went walking and packed a lunch and just explored. It was pretty awesome.

My mom is a water-lover and so this was right up her alley. We had been bragging about how hot it was in Kingston, but it seemed that the weather did not want to cooperate while my parent's were here. It was mostly cloudy, windy, and a few days, rainy. But every day there was a peak of sunshine and some heat, so we tolerated it.

On the Monday, Lucy REALLY wanted to show Grandma Beadapolooza, so we headed there first. We picked out beads for Lucy to make a necklace for Emma and Grandma and a bracelet for me. Max chose out beads to make a necklace for Ashley. Then we headed to the Murney Tower park for a picnic lunch and exploring. In all our exploring, we never did go inside Murney Tower, but we had fun anyway.

Around the flower garden, Lucy spotted some incredible Monarch Butterflies, and then boys got their kicks climbing on everything.

Then we went down by the water and threw rocks in the lake. At one point, Max was in the bathroom (and I was helping him), Tyler was on a phone call and Lucy and Logan were with my parents by the water. Lucy sat on the edge and slipped a bit right as a big wave came up and soaked her. It left her pretty frightened, and we decided it was a good time to pack up and go home...I'm sure it could've been funny, if she wasn't who she is...but she is, so it wasn't.

We went back home for Logan's nap and to let the kids make their necklaces and bracelets they had in mind. Then Tyler and I went to a work BBQ of his while my parent's babysat. It's nice to have babysitters!

Tuesday we spent walking the Queen's campus and checking out the awesome architecture. We started with a stop at this cool fountain in front of the Courthouse. I'm not sure it's a wading pool...fortunately it was either a busy or slow day at court, because no one was around.

We planned to get a bite for lunch and headed to a place called Reid's Dairy, but apparently they only have milkshakes and ice-cream. So we each got a shake ($0.79 each!) and headed home for a bite of lunch on our own terms. We sat outside for the rest of the afternoon and played games and enjoyed the sunshine. It was awesome!

We decided to play it easy in the evening and order in some pizza and go to the Sunflower Farm that we had seen just down the street from our house. Again, something Lucy was DYING to do.
We went a picked 5-stems for our little family ($1 a piece...not bad!) and then got outta there before the mosquitos ate us up. Picked up our pizza and it was home for more time outside. Our $40 patio furniture is getting well used!

I'll stop there. My kid's want me to colour.
