Tally-Ho!

This summer we went on a holiday to Tally Lake, Montana with Tyler's family. We enjoyed a week in the sun and a lot of camping. I was about 2 months pregnant, but nobody knew about it so we continued to try and keep it a secret. The heat got to me, as it did to most of us, and we were all clamouring to find shade. Lucy adapted to the camping life really well and enjoyed playing outside everyday and going for rides on the boat. Because of the cramped quarters, Lucy, Tyler and I had to share a bed...something we haven't done since she was a baby. She definitely dominated the bed and the blankets.
Tyler found that this was the week of 'misfortune', but kept a good attitude throughout the vacation despite his bad luck. On the way to the campground, the truck he was driving (and pulling the trailer with) overheated. When he opened the radiator cap, the radiator fluid boiled over all over his arm and face. He was able to clear his face off quickly, but didn't get to his arm quick enough. He suffered most of the week and more with a pretty severe burn on his arm, which hampered his water-skiing a bit. He ended up finding some under-armour, which made a big difference. No need to add wind-burn to the burn he already had.
A few days into our holiday, Tyler was playing on a tree swing and hit a rock on his way down, breaking a toe. And as if that wasn't enough, on one of the last days camping, he decided to go for a quick ski and ended up tearing his MCL. Fortunately, his uncle is a prosthetist and had a leg brace with him that he let Tyler borrow. Upon getting home, he quickly got it checked out and went for some much needed physiotherapy which healed things up quickly.

It was a great holiday, but after 10 days in a trailer with 7 people, and Tyler's injuries getting progressively worse and worse, it was definitely time to go home. His grandpa joked that it was a good thing it wasn't a 2 week vacation, because who knows what would have happened to Tyler!
