Pleased as Punch - Washington

This morning, before Tyler had to head to his conference, we all headed over to the Washington Temple grounds to see the Visitor's Center and take some pictures.  What a glorious temple.  It's so magnificent.

Max spent most of his time in the Visitor's Center listening to an audio about Faith and Repentance.  Following along in the scriptures as he was guided to do so.  Can't deny that I was pleased as punch about that too.  He sat.  With the scriptures...for a good 20 minutes.  Nice.

After, we dropped Tyler off at the hotel and headed downtown to the National Mall with the plans to do some museums.  We hit up the Botanical Gardens, Air and Space and Natural History.  We were pretty much wasted by the end of all of that, so we headed back to the hotel for a late dinner at a little Mexican Restaurant next door (Guappo's) and off to bed.

For most of the day, Logan wasn't too keen on being out and about.  He enjoyed Air and Space because it's about all things air and space.  Go figure.  But everything else was rather boring for him.  And a bit too loud and busy.  Fortunately, we hit up the insect zoo in Natural History, and he was able to tuck himself away in a termite tunnel for a while.  I was happy to sit on the floor outside the tunnel and give my legs a rest while he gave his brain a rest.

Each kid that came through the tunnel would hear the same speech from Logan:

"Hi, do you want to know my family's names?"
and he would respond with the following, whether they said yes or not.
"My dad's name is Tyler, my mom's name is Heather, my sister's name is Lucy and my brother's name is Max!"

At one point a little girl was hanging out with him when another friend popped in the tunnel for a visit.  Logan began his usual conversation:
"Hi, do you want to know my family's names?"
To which the little girl responded: "I know!  His dad's name is Tyler, his mom's name is Heather, his sister's name is Lucy and his brother's name is Max!"

He look proud as punch that she had caught on.
