We stopped at the Peter Whitmer farm this time, which we have never done. The sight of the organization of the church. The chapel there was beautiful, and typical of the period. They actually hold church services there every Sunday too.

Palmyra - Day 1
With Tyler having so many business trips this month, is was a relief and pleasure to be able to finally join him on his trip to DC. His parents flew out and met him in Ottawa and did some sight-seeing there before taking the train to meet us in Kingston.
Then, after a day of shopping and sight-seeing in Kingston (and soccer), we headed down to Palmyra for Scott and Janie's first trip there.

The boys were antsy after being in the van for so long and weren't much interested in tours, so we sent them running from one end of a field to another. They loved it, and we loved the peace and quiet!
Then we headed to Palmyra to tour the Joseph Smith Farm and Sacred Grove.
Again, the boys needed some distraction, so they had fun with dad, dropping grass in the creek and running to the other side of the bridge to see it come by.
We spent quite a bit of time in the sacred grove. It was a bit muddy, but beautiful.
Afterwards, we ordered some pizza, played at the park, and checked into the hotel. We had another full day of touring and sight-seeing ahead of us.
