We're in Mexico!! Is this really real? I can't believe it! It has been a crazy long day of flying, but we're here. The flight was mostly uneventful. A bit of crankiness and screaming from Logan, but that was to be expected.
We got to the airport in plenty of time, but that just meant extra sitting around and waiting.
They have these huge echo chambers in the Toronto airport that the kids enjoyed running around and playing in, and checking out the duty-free shop. Unfortunately, without a Grandma there, the duty free shop isn't as exciting.
I attempted to watch a movie on the plane, and I'm pretty sure I saw MOST of Mission Impossible 4...enough to get a jyst of it. Going through security and immigration in Mexico was a bit intimidating, but we managed and were soon outside in the hot sticky sun, and meeting up with Grandma! Lucy thought this moment would never come! The kids were immediately attached to her and wandered around checking out palm trees while we waited for Papa to come with the rental van.
We drove the hour+ to get from Cancun to Scott and Janie's place in Chemuyil, but had to stop to drop Great Grandma off at her resort and get groceries...so it took a while. We were definitely ready to start our vacation. First things first...we got into our swimsuits and headed straight to the cenote!
Our first impressions of Mexico: it's hot. It's humid; the guns are scary;
