Sandbanks

Today is holiday Monday.  I love a holiday Monday.  Especially when there's tons of family, it's warm and the beach is the only plan for the day.

And not just any beach.  Picton.  Love it.  It was our first time there.  In the past we've avoided it because it's over an hour away and it costs money to get in.  But since we had special guests, we decided we better give it a try.  It was.  Amazing!  Huge sandy beach and water as far as you could see.  It was windy so there were waves as well.  Awesome waves.  You might be convinced you were swimming in the ocean, if it weren't for the lack of salt-water taste in your mouth and burn in your eyes.  Perfect.

We spent most of the time in the water, because that's where my niece and nephew wanted to be.  At one point my niece said to me, "Auntie Heather, you're fun at the beach!"  Yah baby!

There are a number of people who came home with sunburns today...I will just say that they didn't head my warnings.  Applying sunscreen one time when you're at the beach for 5 hours just doesn't cut it.  And even though it's windy and you can't feel the heat of the sun as directly doesn't mean it isn't doing it's damage.

Lesson learned hopefully.

Papa was the one snapping most of the pictures again.  And he left straight after the beach, so I'll have to wait to get the good photos from him some other time.  But here's a few shots.
