Two tickets to Paradise! (Plus 3 kids)
Friday morning, we got up, got ready, packed up our suitcases (again...looking forward to not living out of a suitcase!), and headed to the train station for our ride to Kingston.
We had planned the train to make it much more exciting then driving the 2 hours from Ottawa to Kingston, but our kid's basically stared at the iPad the entire time. "Hey kid's, look out the window at this!" "huh?" It was nice for Tyler and I though, not worrying about driving and entertaining kids. Just riding. Logan had another Gravol nap. Nice.
We arrived in Kingston (holy HOT!), got the rental car (yay A/C) and headed to our HOUSE!!!!
It was beautiful and empty. Perfect for running around and practicing cartwheels. And playing tag and 'dead man' in the basement while Logan had a nap in the car. (Crib was coming soon!)
I have a house! Upstairs and downstairs! Backyard! More than one bathroom! A Pantry! (with 3 items from Walmart- more to come soon!)
Then we headed out for a quick dinner at Denny's (because we were hoping for something OTHER than burgers and fries)...Lucy order Mac N Cheese, and Max ordered cheese quesadillas. I don't know if that's better than a burger and fries. At least they had apples and grapes with them. Logan didn't eat very much, which is never a good sign.
We headed to Canadian Tire and Walmart to get bedding for the inflatable beds that some friends lent us, so we could camp out in our house for the night. Being at Walmart late into the evening made for grumpy kids...and parents. Plus the fact that we were still adjusting to the new time-zone. It felt like we kept going to bed at Calgary-time and waking up at Ottawa-time. It made for long days and short nights. Thank goodness for Mickey Mouse at the check-out.
Our stuff was being delivered at 10am! Hallelujah.
Logan woke up at about midnight and threw up in his bed...but slept for the rest of the night. Maybe it's the heat?
