Father's Day

Father's Day is a pretty big deal in our house (at least to me and the kids) and takes weeks of preparations and lots of reminders so the kids don't to tell daddy what's happening.  Lucy's gotten really good at keeping a secret, even when her dad tries to trick her and get her to spill the beans.  This Father's Day we spent saturday at my parent's house and Sunday at home and at Grandma Janielee's.  The kids worked on their presents for dad all week and were so excited to give it to him after church.  Before Lucy went to bed on Saturday night she even asked me what dad's favorite dress was so she could wear it to church.
After church and naps the kids gave their dad a card from each of them (Lucy's was from the little princess to the king and Max's was a Nemo card) and a stack of index cards that they had decorated for Tyler to take to work.  We also got him a new chair for his desk in the hopes that it will help his back and make less noise than the other one (secretly a gift for me, since our office is in our bedroom and Tyler is often working on his computer while I'm sleeping).   At one point, Lucy said to me, "Mom, when it's Sister's day, you and dad and Max can make a card and a picture for me!"  So we've decided to have Sister's Day in July and Brother's Day in August.

Later that night we headed to the airport because Auntie Sam, Sarah and Kristine were coming home from their trip to Europe.  The kids enjoyed playing in the play-place and were excited to see the girls.  It was pretty late by the time we got out of there, so we put pjs on the kids and drove home.  Lucy fell asleep in the car, which we expected and Max was content to just sit and look around.
